Taskade review
Tasks, notes and AI agents in one collaborative workspace.
What we like
- Custom AI agents can be built on your own project data without code
- Switch any list between board, mind map, table and calendar views instantly
- Affordable compared with the enterprise workspace tools
- Real-time collaboration with built-in video chat
What we do not
- Jack-of-all-trades product that is rarely the best at any one thing
- AI agent quality is inconsistent on complex tasks
- Mobile apps lag the web experience
What it is
Taskade is a collaborative workspace combining outlines, tasks, mind maps and notes, with AI agents layered across all of it. It sits between a task manager and a knowledge tool, aimed at small teams that want one place rather than three subscriptions.
Where it shines
View flexibility. The same content renders as a list, board, mind map, table or calendar with one click, and no data is lost between them. Planning as a mind map then executing as a board is a natural workflow that most tools force you to rebuild manually.
AI agents are the differentiator. You can create an agent, give it a role and access to a project, and have it break a goal into subtasks, research a topic into a document, or summarise what changed this week. Building the equivalent elsewhere means either code or an automation platform.
Pricing is friendly — $8 per user per month against $20 or more for the better-known workspaces — and the free tier is usable indefinitely for small teams.
Where it falls short
Breadth over depth. As a task manager it is weaker than a dedicated one; as a knowledge base it is weaker than Notion; as an automation platform it is weaker than Zapier. If any one of those is your primary need, a specialist tool will serve you better.
Agent reliability varies. Simple, well-scoped tasks work; ambitious ones produce output that needs more correction than doing it yourself. Mobile apps also trail the web version noticeably.
Pricing in plain English
Free with unlimited tasks and limited AI credits. $8 per user per month for Pro with custom agents. $16 per user for Business with advanced automation.
Who should use it
Small teams and solo operators who want tasks, notes and lightweight AI automation in one affordable place. Larger organisations with established tools should stay where they are.
