What it is

Writesonic is an SEO content platform. It bundles keyword research, competitor analysis, brief generation, long-form drafting and direct publishing into one loop aimed at teams that need to ship a lot of search-targeted articles.

Where it shines

The pipeline. Enter a keyword and it pulls the ranking pages, extracts the topics they cover, builds an outline that includes what is missing, drafts the article, generates the meta description, and pushes it to WordPress. Doing that with a general assistant means five tools and a lot of copy-paste.

Bulk generation is the other draw for agencies: fifty briefs in, fifty drafts out, each with the right structure and internal linking suggestions. At $39-79 a month it is meaningfully cheaper than Jasper for that volume.

Citation and fact-checking features are a sensible addition, given that the main risk in SEO content is confidently publishing something wrong.

Where it falls short

Draft quality. Long-form output follows a recognisable template — introduction that restates the title, a section per H2, a summary that repeats the introduction — and reads like it. Publishing it unedited is exactly the behaviour that gets sites hit in helpful-content updates, and the tool makes that behaviour very easy.

The interface is crowded and changes frequently, with features renamed between visits. Credit accounting is also unclear enough that people regularly hit limits without understanding what consumed them.

Small free tier. $39 a month for Lite with the article writer and WordPress publishing. $79 for Standard volume. $199 for agency use with API access.

Who should use it

SEO teams and content agencies producing search-targeted articles at volume, who have editors to raise the draft above template quality. Not a tool for anyone publishing straight from the generator.

A note on publishing safely

The safest workflow is to use Writesonic for research, outline and first draft, then require a human to add three things before publishing: original data or examples the model could not know, a clear point of view, and internal links that reflect your own site structure. Sites that skip that step are the ones that get flattened by helpful-content updates, and the tool makes skipping it very easy.
