Tools To India is an independent Indian website offering free calculators and clearly sourced information about government schemes, recruitment, exam results and official document processes.

It exists because the two things it does are usually done badly. Calculators online are frequently wrong, or right but silent about the assumptions they make. Government information is frequently copied without checking, so readers act on figures that stopped being true months ago.

The response to both is the same: show the working, name the source, and say what you do not know.

Every calculation on this site runs through a pure function in a shared library, not arithmetic written inline in a web page. Each of those functions has unit tests covering normal cases and the edge cases that break naive implementations — zero, negative numbers, huge values, invalid dates, slab boundaries, leap years.

Each formula is checked against the relevant Act, rule, regulator circular or banking convention, and the source is linked on the page. Where a calculation depends on a convention rather than a rule — how banks compound recurring deposits, how a typical salary is structured — the page states the assumption instead of hiding it.

Calculations happen entirely in your browser. Your salary, loan amount and personal figures are never transmitted anywhere, because there is no server to transmit them to.

Every factual claim on a government page is traced to an official gov.in or nic.in source, and that source is linked and dated on the page.

There are two things we deliberately do not do. We do not publish individual vacancy listings, and we do not republish result data. Both change constantly, and maintaining them accurately across dozens of recruiting bodies is not something we can honestly promise. Publishing a stale closing date can cost someone a job application — so instead we tell you exactly which official body publishes it and link you there.

Where an official source is unclear, contradictory or has not been updated, the page says so rather than filling the gap with a plausible guess.

The site is intended to be supported by advertising. Advertising has no influence over what is published, what a calculator returns, or which official source a page links to — that separation is set out in full in our advertising policy.

Advertisements never appear above or inside a calculator, and are always labelled. If a page would not be worth reading without the advertisements on it, it should not exist.

We do not accept payment for coverage, for inclusion in a comparison, or for a link. We do not publish sponsored posts dressed as editorial.

• Invent vacancy numbers, dates, benefit amounts or eligibility rules.
• Publish fabricated author credentials, reviews, ratings or testimonials.
• Add structured data describing things that are not on the page.
• Generate large numbers of near-identical pages by swapping a keyword or a city name.
• Present an estimate as a certainty, or a projection as a promise.
• Ask you to register, or collect personal information we do not need.
• Claim any government affiliation, or design pages to look like an official portal.

This site will contain mistakes. Tax rules change with every Budget, small savings rates change quarterly, and government portals reorganise without notice.
