How to check your result

  1. Identify which body conducted your examination — IBPS, SBI or RBI. They publish separately.
  2. Go to that organisation’s official careers or recruitment page.
  3. Open the current recruitment’s result link and log in with your registration number and password or date of birth.
  4. Download the scorecard as soon as it is available. Scorecard windows close after a limited period.
  5. For IBPS common recruitment, watch for the separate provisional allotment announcement after the final result.

How IBPS allotment works

Clearing the IBPS process is not the same as being allotted a bank. After the final result, IBPS publishes a provisional allotment based on merit, the preferences you submitted, category and vacancy position at each participating bank.

Preferences matter. A candidate who lists only one bank may go unallotted despite qualifying, if that bank’s vacancies are filled by higher-ranked candidates. The preference order is submitted during the process and cannot usually be changed afterwards.

Scorecards and validity

  • IBPS scorecards for the preliminary and main examinations are available in the candidate portal for a limited period after each result.
  • Download and store both the scorecard and the result page. Banks ask for them at document verification.
  • A qualified IBPS result is valid for that year’s recruitment cycle only. It does not carry forward.

Frequently asked questions

Where are IBPS results published?
On ibps.in, in the current recruitment section. You log in with your registration number and password or date of birth. SBI and RBI publish their results separately on their own websites, since they do not participate in IBPS common recruitment.
I cleared the IBPS exam but was not allotted a bank. Why?
Allotment depends on your merit position, your stated bank preferences, your category and the vacancy position at each participating bank. Qualifying does not guarantee allotment, particularly if you listed few preferences. Candidates who list more preferences have a better chance of being allotted somewhere.
How long is a scorecard available?
Only for a limited period after the result — typically a few weeks. Download it immediately and keep a copy, because banks ask for it at document verification and the window does not usually reopen.
Does an IBPS result carry over to the next year?
No. Each recruitment cycle is separate, and a qualified result applies only to that cycle. Candidates who are not allotted must apply again in the next cycle.
