How to check your result

  1. Identify the specific RRB or RRC you applied to. Results are published zone by zone, not centrally.
  2. Go to that board’s official website, reachable from the central RRB portal or from indianrailways.gov.in.
  3. Open the result link for the relevant recruitment and stage.
  4. Search the PDF for your roll number, or log in with your registration number and date of birth where a scorecard is provided.
  5. Download and save the result and scorecard immediately.

Results are zonal, not national

There is no single national railway result page. Each Railway Recruitment Board and each Railway Recruitment Cell publishes results for its own recruitment on its own website.

Candidates frequently waste time looking on the wrong board’s site. Your admit card states which RRB or RRC you applied to — that is the only site your result will appear on.

Stages and normalisation

  • The first stage computer-based test result shortlists candidates for the next stage. It usually does not count towards final merit.
  • Scores across shifts are normalised, so the raw score you calculate from the answer key is not the score used for shortlisting.
  • Shortlisted candidates then proceed to the second stage, and to any aptitude, typing or physical test the post requires.
  • Document verification and the medical examination come last, and candidates can be excluded at either.

Where do I check my railway exam result?
On the website of the specific RRB or RRC you applied to — results are published zone by zone rather than centrally. Your admit card shows which board that is. Reach the site through a link from indianrailways.gov.in or the central RRB portal.
Why is my score different from what I calculated using the answer key?
Because scores are normalised across shifts. Railway examinations run in multiple shifts with different papers, and raw scores are statistically adjusted so candidates in a harder shift are not disadvantaged. The normalised score is what determines shortlisting.
Does the first stage result count towards final selection?
Usually not. The first stage computer-based test is generally a shortlisting stage, with the second stage and subsequent tests determining merit. The specific recruitment notification states how merit is calculated.
How do I avoid fake railway result websites?
Navigate only from indianrailways.gov.in or the central RRB portal. Do not enter your registration number or date of birth on any site you reached from a search result or a forwarded message, and never pay for result access — official results are free.
